The mother had her own attatchment-identity issues. She very easily could have been coddling her daughter and putting her into balerina school because she failed as a balerina.
I would call dissasociative feug/identity (alter ego) for the halucination stuff though. Hollywood, unfortunatly, works in metaphors for alot of psych movies, so the scenes with said "halucinations" could have been her alter trying to break through. Think about the lipstick on the mirror in the begining. Did the other girl go into the bathroom and write it? Was Nina actualy dry heaving into the toilet? People with this disorder black out while their alter is in control, and it would be interesting to see if the color of the writing matched the color she stole from the dressing room. And the black swan part at the end; was that the same Nina from the entire movie? Or did that bad-ass attitude remind anyone else of the Lily projections?
Thats my rant. As far as the funny parts go, my favorite line in the whole movie was the director saying "That was me seducing you. It needs to be the other way around."

But the scene that had us all three of us jump back was the scene with her in her bed by herself....you know which one. >>
Haha we only jumped back because of the sudden prescence of the mom and how we felt like we just got caught XD haha
I swear, when she rolled over and saw her mom there, my cousins and I all looked at each other and had the exact same thought: "Instant cold shower." [/quote] Gahaha we thought the same thing! And yeah that mother was crazy! Who the heck clips nails with a pair of scissors??

But you're not suppose to just grab them and start snipping away like they're garden shears, and that's pretty much what she did.

I personally loved it. And I went into with my friends with the initial thought itd be one of those movies that were "So bad I could get a good laugh from it." and I never imagined how much I'd be wrong. I got ALOT of laughs out of it, but that was just because of some of the ways stuff comes outta left field, B*tch slaps you, and makes you laugh. Perfect example? that old man in the subway car.....you know who I mean >>;

So I got the chance to see 'True Grit' this friday. Was a decent enough film, though i was surprised at how much banter occupied the timespace of the film rather than action or character development. Not t say it's bad, but a bit unexpected.

If I see it at all, she will hear about it. Is she really strict about movies and whatnot, then? =/ Also, I watched Hachi: A Dog's Tale a few days ago. Good story, although it had me tearing up. Wish I'd known what it was about before sitting down to watch it...

I frickin' hate dog movies. I refused to watch it because something tragic always happens. Why can't we have a happy dog story for once. Seriously. I would be so incredibly happy if they made the book "No More Dead Dogs" into a move.

Wish I'd known what it was about before sitting down to watch it... Yes... She insists on not bringing or allowing movies into the house if she considers them "demonic in nature". You can understand my frustration. My grandma gave me that one. I do not plan to watch it. I am not a dog person.

LMAO... Maybe you should write to the producer of Hachi?
