OK, since we have Xira's section about Nostalgic Television, and since I'm a gamer, I felt I HAD to make this section here. But let me clarify, when I say retro games, I'm not talking just arcade classics, though I love those games the most, I'm talking any system that can now be seen as classic. So let's get this started.
Who remembers The Legend of Zelda on NES? Super Mario Bros. 3. Pacman on Atari, heck I even have E.T. on Atari. Frogger, Centipede, and Pitfall. How about on the Sega, Sonic the Hedgehog. And let's not forget, Star Fox on the SNES.

My favorite game of all time has to be Yoshi's Island. I grew up on this game. It holds alot of dear memories for me. Plus, it totally perfected the platformer, and even threw in a few nice touches and controlled beautifully. and the difficulty was perfect as well. all around its an excellent game.

LOL I'm a same, I've got Yoshi's Island and still play it. I have to agree with you Fayt, great platformer, real good graphic design, and a difficulty that made it worth playing again and again. The only thing I hated about Yoshi's Island, was Baby Mario's crying ugh, I wanted to LET the Koopa's have him just to shut him up lol.

That's one of the things that strikes me anyway; that an awful lot of the music for these classic games have had such a huge impact and I think have contributed so much to the success of the games that you cannot possibly imagine it not being there. Though I agree that Star Fox on the SNES was good, Star Fox 64 (or Lylat Wars depending on where you're from) was even better. That's one of my favourite games of all time. I think it's a bit of a shame that with the new Bionic Commando coming out, they haven't taken the opportunity to release the NES version on the Virtual Console for Wii. Now there was a good, hard-to-beat classic game. Basically the simplest of controls, but the level design was so strong that manoeuvring your character through the levels became pretty damn tricky.

Heh, we can go to the N64 Era? Well then No one will argue with these 2, as they are the essentials that EVERY gamer must play to consider themselves so: Super Smash Bros, and Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

I will not argue Smash Bros. or Zelda at all, but like gjaerd said, Star Fox 64 was GREAT. Actually, the N64 had a host of great games. I hate to say this, but as far as Nintendo goes, the last classic games are on the N64. Mario 64, Star Wars: Rouge Squadron, Shadows of the Empire, and let's not forget, Goldeneye, Jet Force Gemini, and my favorite M rated game, Conker's Bad Fur Day.

A good old school game...Golden Axe. I loved playing Golden Axe. My uncle and I used to be on it ALL THE TIME. I was quite upset at the remake for 360 simply because it was single player. It was like when TMNT came out for the 360 and seeing that only single player KNOWING every other Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle game before that was a multiplayer game.

heh, I bet EVERYONE here remembers Super Ghouls and Ghosts. hands down the most difficult game of all time (besides Bart's Nightmare, but thats due to purely horrid gameplay and controls).
